Who we are
Vivarca (vivarca.org) is a free, non-commercial public archive of public domain books on survival, medicine, agriculture, engineering and related topics. The site is operated by a private individual and is not a registered company.
What we collect
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This tool is cookieless — it does not place any tracking cookies in your browser and does not build a profile of you as an individual.
The data Cloudflare collects on our behalf includes:
- Pages visited and time spent on page
- Country of origin (derived from IP address, not stored)
- Browser type and operating system
- Device type (mobile, tablet, desktop)
- Referring source (how you found the site)
This data is aggregated and anonymous. We cannot identify individual visitors. IP addresses are processed by Cloudflare to derive approximate location and are not stored by us.
What we do not collect
- No cookies of any kind
- No email addresses or any personal information
- No account registration or login data
- No payment information
- No cross-site tracking
- No data sold or shared with advertisers
Third party services
Cloudflare — The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and served through Cloudflare's global network. As a result, Cloudflare processes all requests to vivarca.org, including your IP address, as part of providing the hosting and security service. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
Google Fonts — The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google may receive your IP address as part of the font delivery request. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy
Amazon affiliate links — Some links on this site point to Amazon and include an affiliate identifier. If you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may set cookies when you visit their site. Amazon's privacy policy applies: amazon.com/privacy
Cookies
Vivarca itself sets no cookies. Cloudflare may set a technical cookie (__cf_bm) for bot management purposes as part of providing the hosting service. This is a security cookie, not a tracking cookie, and is subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Because we set no analytics or tracking cookies, no cookie consent banner is required under GDPR for the analytics we use.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are based in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you.
Since we do not collect or store personal data directly, there is no personal data held by Vivarca to access or delete. For data processed by Cloudflare or Google on our behalf, please refer to their respective privacy policies and data subject request processes.
Data retention
Cloudflare Web Analytics retains aggregated traffic data for up to 6 months. No individual-level data is retained by us at any point.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated. We recommend checking it periodically.
Contact
